Vintage Riedell 595 Speed Skates Size 12 Mounted On Sure Grip XK-4 9 Green Laces. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
The laces on the boots are thick green and black. The insoles have been run through and the size marking has almost been completely wiped from the inside of both shoes! Luckily most of the important parts you can still make out. The insoles measure to be just at 12” to fit this seemingly men’s size 12 skates. I have a measurement of the actual skates themselves which do measure at 12” toe to heal. The leather is in great shape and the wheels all roll but will all need adjusting to your desired spinning rotation as they do not all spin the same, freely. (tested them out for a few minutes inside... took a bit to get used to skating again haha it’s been a while!) On the backside of the tongues, the material is coming off, I presume from too much exposure to moisture and cracking. I would say it is most similar to what the foam in older hats does, at least the consistency of the breaking.
The wheels are all Zinger but there are different kinds on at the moment. They are mixed up to have a cool design when out on the rink but total there are 4 Zinger Vanguard Speed Wheels (with lightning bolt illustrations on them), and 4 Zinger (red wheels with checkered pattern)! They are attached to a fully metal wheelbase which says Sure Grip XK-4 with 9 underneath. I’m the boots, they are embossed with Riedell Red Wing, Minn. one of the boots has a darker area right over this spot.
The brakes on the front: the left one has some cracking on it and the right one seems to be the dominant braking foot because it’s toe brake is much smoother and worn down a bit. The veryyy front toe are is also a little scuffed up (probably from some late braking and coming quick to a wall or another skater) but overall these are in superb condition!
