    Primitive Handcrafted Latin American Origin Gourd Water Vessel Jug Canteen
    This is a beautiful estate find antique/vintage primitive handcrafted Latin American water vessel, jug or canteen.
    Country of the maker is not known. Excellent example of tribal crafts. They were made by hand using plant fiber basket weaving around the neck. Nice solid piece that shows a beautiful patina from long use. Hand carved cross and, as I see it, the word “Custodio” – Guardian, Protector.
    I wish I knew more about item's time period and history. If someone could give some tips on the subject, I would appreciate it.
