    Backstrap Loomed
    Rustic Vintage
    This is an Incan rug or textile handmade on a back strap loom in a cottage industry in Peru. Woven in two 25" wide panels typical of backstrap loomed pieces. It is in a colorful geometric design. The artisan had access to a very broad pallet of yarn colors. Colors include naturals with orange, red, browns, green, pink, magenta, purple and blue. Shows generous use of purple dye. The blue dye is seldom seen in Incan weavings of this period. It was initialed in weave by artisan "FFF". These pieces are no longer coming out of Peruvian Andes.
    Measures 51" by 68". Weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces.
