    Description

Being offered is a rare pair of Peruvian Kero cups from the 16-17th Century.  These are from the Spanish Colonial period and are Inca Indian in origin.
Keros were traditionally made in pairs for drinking a fermented beer beverage made of corn malt.  The larger cup would have been given to a visitor and smaller taken by the owner of the residence. Please see web for more information and similar examples at museums.
Size: the larger cup is 8 3/4 inches in height and 7 1/2 inches in diameter at the top.  The smaller cup is 8 inches in height and 7 inches in diameter at the top.
Both are in excellent condition for their age with a great patina.  Both have scratching, dings, dents and chips consistent with age.
These were acquired in Latin America in the 1930s.
