    Description

This is an Antique Ceylonese Lime Paste Container also known as a Killotaya.  The Container was used to hold lime which is a key ingredient in the mixing & chewing of betel nut.  The piece is in good condition & quite old. As you can see by the pictures listed this container has the incised detail of what appears to possibly be a flower on both sides of the container.  The container itself is made of Brass so therefore it is quite heavy.  This is a very nice & rustic original piece. This particular container was purchased by my American expatriate father in 1975 in Penang, Malaysia during a period when he owned an antique shop in the vicinity of Batu Ferringhi.
Dimensions: 3 1/4 inches wide by 1 inch high by 4 1/2 inches inches long.  Weight: 11.3 ounces
Since the item has a nice well earned antique patina that has developed over time I decided to list the container for sale without polishing it.
Returns accepted if not completely satisfied.
