Early anatomy model of the human ear
by Somso and made in Germany
This is apparently an early version of the Somso ear model. It does not appear to have ever had the two covers that are part of later models.
See the last photo = the later model.
The later model had two covers, but the forward cover was attached to the model with a long pin, seen in the last photo. The pin was inserted into the main model to keep it in place. But this earlier model does not have the hole to accept the pin, so the cover was apparently not part of it. Also the stand on the later models is deeper, which allowed for the greater depth of the updated model with covers. But the earlier model offered here has a shallower stand since the cover was not included.
I believe this earlier model is complete as it was originally produced, possibly pre WWII.
